Global Perspective on Resilient Education (Panel Discussion) 10:00 am - 10:45 am

Stemming from the OECD’s report “Lessons for Education from COVID-19, A Policy Maker’s Handbook for More Resilient Systems” This session will explore the key takeaways brought to the forefront in observing different system’s approaches to the COVID- 19 crisis and, significantly, the actuality of a momentum of collective emergency action to drive education into a new and better normal. It will explore 3 core lessons; 1) Education actors should nurture resilient mindsets that value people and processes over classrooms and devices, 2) Educators need new skills and new knowledge to capitalize on new education priorities and means of delivery, 3) Addressing learning gaps now will minimize disruptions in students’ educational journeys.

As educators we want to guide our learners to a point where they can take responsibility for their own learning; we want them to make wise choices about what to do when they don’t know what to do. We need to support them in the development of new habits and skills and do so in an environment where they feel comfortable but challenged. In this presentation we will consider how we can bring together approaches to teaching, learning and assessment to achieve these aims.

Using Data to Create Resilience 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

We are told that knowledge is power and yet, as school leaders and teachers, we are often unaware of the quantity of potential information that is around us. This workshop will showcase a year in the life of a data-rich school looking at how it is possible to gather and analyse data to effect whole school improvement. It will provide examples and a case study of a real school which has used the data around them to inform the need to introduce a Cambridge Professional Development Qualification (PDQ) programme, and it will give participants the opportunity to consider the data that is available to them and how this might be used to make key decisions about improvement. If knowledge is power, then harnessing it will lead to greater resilience in these difficult times.

كان قطاع التعليم من أشد القطاعات التي تأثرت بجائحة كورونا، ووجدت النظم التعليمية نفسها أمام تحديات لم تواجهها من قبل، ويجب اتخاذ قرارات حاسمة إزاءها، فكان إغلاق المدارس الحل الذي انتهجته كثير من نظم التعليم الدولية؛ لمحاولة وقف انتشار الفيروس.

وقعات علماء الأوبئة تشير إلى أن أمد الجائحة قد يطول، الأمر الذي يفرض على المسؤولين في النظم التعليمية تحديات كبيرة فيما يتعلق بحماية الأجيال من الأخطار التي تهدد نموهم المعرفي المتوازن، والحماية التي توفرها عادة نظم التعليم مثل دعم المتعثرين أو ذوي الحاجات الخاصة، إضافة إلى أن معالجة هذه التحديات يجب أن يكون طويل المدى، ومتزامنًا مع امتداد حالة الإغلاق. إن الحاجة للعمل التعاوني والتشاركية تتزايد لمواجهة هذا التحدي المتعاظم، لذلك فإن أنشطة هذه الورشة مساهمة لإيجاد حلول إبداعية وعملية تقلل الفاقد التعليمي أثناء الجائحة.

كيف أمكِّن وأدعم المعلّمين في العالم الرقمي بشكل حقيقي؟ ٦:٣٠م - ٨:٣٠ م

أثناء أدائنا لوظائف الإشراف والقيادة، نتعامل مع العديد من المعلمين الذين يختلفون عنا في أساليبهم التدريسية كما يختلفون عن غيرهم من المعلمين. هل هناك أسلوب واحد يتعين على المعلّمين اتباعه مع طلابهم، أم أن الأساليب متعددة يختار المعلّم منها ما يشاء ؟ كيف يتعامل المشرف التربوي وكيف يتخاطب مع معلّمين تتباين أساليبهم التعليمية التي يمارسونها مع طلبتهم؟ وكيف يتسنى للمشرف التربوي أن يدعم ممارسات كل معلّم على حدة ،مع وجود اختلافات. في أساليبهم التعليمية؟ هذه الأسئلة وغيرها تطرح في ورشة العمل وتمنح الأفكار التي نحتاجها لمساعدة جميع المعلمين، المستجدين منهم في العمل أو المحترفين ليبنوا على نقاط قوتهم، ويستكشفوا طرقًا أخرى للتعليم، ويلبوا المعايير المطلوبة في البيئة التعليمية وخاصة في التعليم عن بعد.
